Dear Autumn Lane Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Tasha Potter and I will be the new Principal at Autumn Lane. I am very pleased to be joining you! This begins my 17th year as an educator. Prior to coming to Autumn Lane, I was the Assistant Principal at Pine Brook, taught fourth grade in Gates Chili and grades 1, 2 and 3 in the Rochester City School District. As an educator, I have gained invaluable experiences which have helped to prepare me for this new role.
I received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts Degree from SUNY College at Brockport. In May 2006, I received a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS), which certifies me to be a building and district administrator. My husband, Mr. Potter and I have three children; Brya 14, Brayla 10 and Braden 3 years old. As a family we enjoy going to the YMCA, playing games together and eating out.
Autumn Lane is known to be a school of academic excellence, as well as the Signature School of the Arts. I am very impressed with the quality of education that students receive and the way that the arts are infused in the teaching and learning in our school. It is clear there is a strong commitment from the faculty to ensure students are appropriately challenged at all levels, as well as from the parents of Autumn Lane to make sure that student learning is supported. I have noticed that we have great students, parents, staff, a wonderful PTA, as well as a supporting and caring community. It takes a collaborative effort to make a great school and by working together as a team, I am quite sure that our students will continue to reach their highest level of achievement.
I intend to work with Mr. Merkey, and all school staff on behalf of your children. I know that you’ve worked very hard to help your children become successful learners, while encouraging them to be proud of themselves and their accomplishments. It is my goal to contribute to the hard work that takes place at Autumn Lane. If you have any questions for me, do not hesitate to call (585)966-4700 or e-mail me at Tasha.Potter@greece.k12.ny.us. I look forward to working with each one of you and the excitement of a new school year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tasha Potter
