One of the PTSA’s missions is to assist classroom teachers, in enriching and enhancing the academic environment of the students at Athena Middle School.   Mini Grant Awards will be considered for teachers and staff who have ideas for creative, innovative educational projects for which funding is not available through regular school sources.   Funds are made available through money raised in the annual Entertainment Book Sale.  Thank you for your continued support.

YOU MUST BE AN AMS PTSA MEMBER TO SUBMIT A GRANT REQUESTClick here for a Membership form.

Mini Grant Funds may be used to pay speakers, purchase audio/visual materials, supplies, equipment, etc., necessary for the successful completion of a project. For example, a Mini Grant Award could be used to purchase science equipment for a special science experiment, to fund a parent study skills program designed to improve the quality of parental involvement in their child's homework, or could be used for a competitive opportunity (e.g. county-wide math competition, spelling bee, etc.).  Specialized educational trips will be considered if they are an integral part of the proposed project.   The project must be completed within the proposed budget submitted.   The project must not generate any additional personnel costs.

The PTSA Mini Grant Awards Review Committee will review proposals.  The grant award process is designed to provide funds for special programs that are responsive to classroom needs, and inspire the desire to know and learn.
